How often should you post on LinkedIn? What happened when I posted every day
Post 3 to 4 times a week, never more than once a day, and never twice within a few hours. After I switched to posting every day, most of my posts fell from tens of thousands of impressions to a few hundred, and two posts published an hour apart got 10 to 15 impressions each.
My numbers
| Period | How often I posted | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| August to early September | A few times a week | Posts reached 120,521, 42,758 and 35,985 impressions |
| From 13 September | Every day | The first one hit 105,717. After that, most landed between 250 and 2,000, the best at 11,736 |
| One evening | Two posts 68 minutes apart | 10 to 15 impressions each |
Same account, same audience, similar topics. Daily posting was not the only change, and one strong post still broke through on day one. But across the following weeks, reach per post fell sharply while volume went up.
Why posting more can mean being seen less
- Each post competes with your previous one for the same followers' attention.
- More posts usually means thinner posts. Readers scroll past, and LinkedIn reads that quick scroll as a signal.
- Repeating an idea, even reworded, trains your audience to skip you.
- A second post within hours of the first splits the early engagement both of them need.
What to do instead
- Post 3 to 4 times a week, on weekdays, at a consistent time.
- Keep each post to one idea, 40 to 110 words, with a first line that works on its own.
- Leave at least a day between posts.
- Use the time you save to leave a few thoughtful comments on bigger posts in your field.

Is posting every day on LinkedIn bad?
For most people it lowers reach per post. On my account, after switching to daily posting, most posts fell from tens of thousands of impressions to a few hundred.
How many times a week should a founder post on LinkedIn?
Three to four strong posts a week beats seven average ones. Two a week is a fine starting point if time is short.
Can I post twice a day on LinkedIn?
Avoid it. In my data, two posts about an hour apart both got almost no reach.
